Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener Onboarding is an online course for individuals wishing to become a Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener. Joining the program requires you to take a series of two courses.

Course #1 is participating in an approved learning opportunity from the Wisconsin Extension Horticulture Program called ‘Foundations in Gardening’. This course is from September 7, 2025 – December 6, 2025 and is full for 2025. Couse fee is $325 and includes electronic version of manual (PDF). Manual hard copy (recommended) is $35. Course #2 completing Onboarding. 2026 course dates are February 16 – March 29, 2026. Early Bird registration is $100, December 9, 2025 – January 15, 2026. Regular registration is $125 from January 16 – February 8, 2026.
Course is self-study and highly flexible. Course has limited capacity, please register early. This is an online course that uses Canvas and Zoom.
